Common Mistakes People Make In Internet Marketing   June 17th, 2009

Foregoing many of the hassles and frustrations of traditional offline ventures, Internet marketing is the perfect business to start for ourselves. But if it’s so good, why do most people fail to make any money online? Here are some of the most common mistakes people make when building their Internet marketing businesses:

Having a Get-Rich-Quick Mentality

Despite what anyone says, making real money online requires a consistent effort over an extended period of time. Take a look at anyone who has made a significant amount of money, and you will notice that 99% of them did it through plain old hard work. The fact of the matter is that Internet marketing is, in the end, a business, and behind any successful business are blood, sweat and tears.

Now keep in mind, having the right teachers can drastically lessen the amount of time it takes to make decent money, but the truth is your success can only be reached if you work at it for a length of time. In the world of Internet marketing, “get rich quick” doesn’t exist.

Lack of Focus

This is a major error that affects a lot of folks looking to make cash on the Internet. There are just so many different ways to make money on the Internet. You sell other people’s products through affiliate offers, or sell a product of your own. You can earn cash showing PPC ads, or use PPC ads to sell products and make cash that way. There are so many different things you can do, and often, we get caught up trying new things, constantly hopping from one method to the next. Unfortunately, a lack of focus is going to not only seriously hinder your business, but you are also going to end up spending a fortune on different courses and products that teach you these new methods.

The suggested course of action? Find one method that makes sense and follow it through to the best of your ability. Give it a solid six months to a year of effort at a minimum and see how things are working out. If you’re seeing some decent return on your efforts, keep doing what you’re doing. If nothing is really happening, then and only then should you think about a new approach.

Giving Up

Finally, I have to point out the biggest thing keeping people from Internet marketing success, and that is giving up too early. We’ve already determined that success in Internet marketing – and anything for that matter – requires a consistent effort over an extended period of time. Along the way, you will hit a “turning point” in your business – when things really start gelling and you are starting to enjoy the benefits. The trick is, before that happens, it will appear that nothing is happening, and unfortunately, many people misunderstand this as failure and decide to give up.

The truth is that Internet marketing works if you work it, and in order for it to work, you absolutely must keep working until you hit the turning point. Stop too soon and you’ll never know if your plan works or not.

No Pain, No Gain

Concentrated effort over time is the only way to make it. Internet marketing legend Alex Goad has authored an entire program designed to help you make a killing online named Google Conquest. Released in December 2008 and closed to the public shortly after, Google Conquest has been helping members make a pile of money on the Internet through proven Internet marketing principles. But on June 16th, Alex will be accepting new members into this heavily tweaked program – now dubbed Conquest Authority. To find out more, read this honest Conquest Authority review from an actual member, and learn about a killer Conquest Authority bonus package you can get access to if you act today.
